Every vet has an ethical responsibility to offer rabies vaccine at a reasonable price

To my knowledge there is no place locally where you can have your dog, for example, seen by a veterinarian and get a complete exam, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, heartworm test, fecal exam at a total cost of $85.00.

I did not mean to imply that $85 for the above is unreasonable and I certainly don’t have any criticism against her for offering this.  I am sure that she is well intentioned.  As another vet told me, rabies vaccine is required by law and that is why he offers it without a physical exam.

I think that every vet has an ethical responsibility to offer rabies vaccine at a reasonable price – no more that $10 and I think they should offer a three-way vaccine (recommended every three years) without a physical exam for a reasonable price – perhaps $15. Not everyone believes that a yearly physical exam is necessary for people or animals and animals don’t live very long.  Most illnesses in both are self-limiting
