They say stuff on the internet never goes away and never believe all you see on the web. The “web” in this case is a story in Gene’s Chatham journal Sept 22nd 2011 entitled “The signature spider in my sun room”. It is beautifully written and illustrated. . Credited to Nabooko, but alas, it is not my work. I did not see it until years later. I called it to the attention of the editor but the attribution was never changed.
Will the real spider story author please stand up? We need more writers like you . . . And while I’m at it, I’m saying more folks should send in down home stories and remembrance articles to the chatlist. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Giving us just the “jist” of a story is entertaining . .It is a great way to create good will and cheer Chathamites . .

The copy I found did not credit anyone. Since the discovery I have gone in and added the author’s name; Whitney Schmidt. I also found that the original photo she referred to via a link was no longer available. I added a link to a Wikepedia page with a note.
Not sure where you found your copy with the credit given you. It’s possible it’s on our old site that we stopped updating once we moved to using WordPress. It’s probably unlikely that we will go in and make changes to the old site, due to the an array of reasons.
I do appreciate you catching the error, which allowed me to make the correction at the URL above.
BTW, with a New Year, there is new hope. Wondering, if you may change your mind and allow me to sit down with you and record a video conversation? Would love to talk to you about your life expereinces and adventures. Let me know.
