Just a suggestion — paper towels – reuse or recycle

Unusual suggestion for reusing paper towels. Is the purpose to save money as they are expensive, or to recycle, reuse, to save the environment.   paper towels can cost over $1.00 a roll and you can feasible use a roll in 2-3 days.. depending on your habit, you can spend a lot of money in a year’s time on paper towels. .

My logical solution to saving money and not buying many paper towels is this: For around $27.00. you can buy a case of 4,000 hand towels from Sam’s club (and probably Costco). I use them in my kitchen for my hands, wiping up spills, wiping grease out of pans to keep from going into drains, etc. They can easily fit into a box on your kitchen counter (in my case a box made from pallet wood, and refinished to match my (new) cabinets) , and snapped out as you need them… I always keep a roll of paper towels for food contact, i.e., drain lettuce, bacon, etc… , but hardly ever use it – and a roll of paper towels will last me weeks if not months…. A box of 4,000 towels will last me 6 months or more. Each household will be different, but every household will save lots of money using individual snap out hand towels instead of paper towel rolls.
