Thank you, Chris, for asking about the service time comparison between Progress Energy and now Duke Progress.

I live in Creekside Apts. behind St. Barts’.  Progress Energy always had a “person” option when calling in to report a power outage.  Duke doesn’t.  My power Saturday was off from 1pm to about 9:15pm.  The machine reported my power would be back on by 5pm, wasn’t, so I called again.  The machine reported “cause unknown.”  A neighbor said there were trees down at the bottom of the hill from St. Barts’.  I could’ve told a  Duke “person” that info, but there was no “person” option in their message.  Very frustrating.  I intend to call Customer Service tomorrow (Monday).

I’ll check on difference in costs.

I find it a problem when large companies merge.  No diversity, no competition.  Then they can do anything they like.
