Subject: news, bias and reliably informing the public
I based my recent comments on megasites on a news item posted as a hyperlink by Gene on the chat list. Obviously there is more to the story than what was revealed in that news item. If Donna doesn’t think the questions I raised are based on fact, then I appreciate anything she has to say that sheds more light on the subject.
Since the news item itself was a fairly biased interpretation of the situation, I have to wonder why Gene thought we should read it. Perhaps, in the future, he should run any so- called news items by Donna before opening them up for discussion on the chat list. It might prevent any misunderstandings that occur as a result of being misinformed.
I am not sure, however, that we will always get an unbiased reading from Donna’s interpretations, considering she is an acknowledged supporter of the Republican party in Chatham County and has a vested interest in drumming up support for the Republicans who sit on our board. I would encourage her to add a disclaimer at the end of her posts in order to alert readers to any potential conflict of interest.
Personally, I would welcome a more balanced coverage of the behind the scenes activities that would accurately inform us about the decisions our elected officials make. That might be more than a chat list can hope to achieve, but it is a standard that professional journalists believe is important. FOX news being the most obvious exception, of course.

In your article you demonstrate a “biased” person and single out a single news organization that stands up to be fair and balanced and goes against reporters like yourself that are in my opinion ruining America by not reporting the facts or both sides of the issues. You just slam someone that is in disagreement with You (snotty reporter who has an axe to grind). It is obvious YOU are a representative of the Liberal “mainstream” media. Reporters like yourself are in denial and do not listen and are therefore what it is called “biased.” I will let people think of more adjectives that describe you and your reporting.
