Subject: Continuum of Care meeting for parents of children with “special needs” and providers starts back

Hope you all enjoyed your Holiday! Now we are ready to get back to educating, supporting, and and collaborating!

What does the Continuum of Care do? We meeting monthly as parents, providers (who serve all ages of persons), and school personnel, at the Western Senior Center to learn about services, give feedback as to how to make them more effectual, and put our heads together as a group to fill in the gaps that we may feel exist currently in our county. This a collaborative of equality and has been a good time and great learning experience for all! We are also currently working on a Resource guide for the county that will be an invaluable resource when completed for everyone.

When is the next Continuum of Care meeting? January 19th 9:30-11:30pm with refreshments provided.
Where: Western Senior Center in Siler City

Parents if you have never been then make this a New Year resolution to get involved with the future of not only your child but all persons who have “different abilities” in Chatham County. We are not always given the oppurtunity to empower ourselves so when we are, and we are able to, need to grab hold with both hands.

God bless and Happy New year!!
