Subject: You are Invited: Permaculture Community Workday, Dec. 10 @ Blue Heron Farm.
You are invited to attend a permaculture, community-workday at Blue Heron Farm Intentional Community on December 10th from 9 to 2. We will be sharing meals, learning about Edible Forest Gardens, then installing one on 2/3 acre. The goal is to transform this marginal field with minimal use into a food, medicine, fuel, wildlife habitat producing space. It will be sustainable, low-maintenance, beautiful, and ecosystem stabilizing.
The schedule is:
9 to 10 – Acorn pancakes, coffee and wild tea
9:30 to 10:30 – Facilitated Edible Forest Garden/permaculture roundtable discussion
10:30 to 1p – Plant, mulch, and cage 40+ trees and shrubs
1 – Potluck around a bonfire or inside
2 – Optional farm tours
The intention is to build community, share knowledge, and create something beautiful and functional. Space is limited to 25 participants.. The rain date is January 7th, 2012.
Bring work gloves, a shovel, layered clothing, and a potluck dish for lunch (stove for warming available). There is no cost. Donations to the Blue Heron Educational Association are accepted.
