Jina, your complaints about Centurylink are worse than ours, but we have problems also. We complained that the bill comes 5 days before it is due. They told us ‘tough’, pay it and pay it on time. We have constantly complained that they will not provide DSL service to our area of several subdivisions and private homes and over 100 potential customers, but they say ‘tough’, they have to think of their bottom line, not the fact that they are not even providing us with 20th century technology in the 21st century.
We resorted to a data card from Verizon for internet. It is not great since we are on the edge of the service zone and it is very expensive. Embarq and then Century Link all promised DSL, but never delivered and then gave us the ‘tough’. About half of our phone calls say ‘incomplete data’ instead of giving us caller ID. Altho our address is Pittsboro, our calling area is Pittsboro, Sanford and Bear Creek, etc. instead of the area most of Pittsboro has, including Cary and Raleigh, thus, most of our calls are long distance.
We are waiting for Verizon to put in a new tower or do something to improve our cell phone signal and then it is bye bye Century Link. We don’t need an arrogant and incompetent company as our phone company.
It would be nice if we could do something about this company, but, dropping the land line is the only power we seem to have.
