Dropped calls by Verizon Wireless

This is a follow up to another post a week or so ago about recent dropped calls.  I have been having problems where I didn’t used to as well.  Although I tried the ### “send”, there was not a confirmation, so I thought it didn’t work.  I was told by a Verizon rep today that there won’t be any confirmation on our end, but it will be on theirs.  We need to continue to do that so they can know which calls are dropped.  You only need to do it once for each call (### then the “send” key), but they need to have a record of about 15 calls before they can do something about it.  Once you have done it for a week or so, call them back and they can put a “work ticket” in for it.  If we all do it, maybe the coverage will be better and we won’t be in our driveways standing on one foot with our free hand in the air!

  1. I am having the same problem with dropped calls and inability to call with Verizon here in north Texas. Since September 2011 to mid oct 2011 I have had horrib le service from Verizon at my home – inside and in the outside surrounding my home. I often cannot get a connection to make a call and often have dropped calls. All recent events – in the past approx 4+ years, while the signal has not been strong it has most often worked. I have now been told twice that the problem is with the verizon tower and that it is overloaded. As I result of verizon’s increased business, I get significantly lower service. A $250 femtocell has been recommended as my solution, even with a slight discount. I just don’t understand why I must pay MORE to resolve a service issue that Verizon says is their cell tower being overloaded.
    Anyone else having this problem??

  2. After many calls to Verizon, they offered me 1/2 off the $250 for the femtocell. After considering my options, I went back to them, within about 2 weeks or so. They verified in their notes that I had been offered the 50% discount but the supervisor on duty refused to honor it. what crap!
