Hi all. Just a few words about the jewelry classes that I teach.
I teach metal jewelry making, not how to wire wrap a stone or how to string beads. I do, however, admire folks who can do those 2 well. I can’t and therefore don’t teach those things. In my classes, sawing, forging, texturing, drilling, forming, cold connections and soldering are taught. What that means is a piece of wire or sheet metal is taken, and by means of the above, turned into jewelry. Pretty standard techniques, some of which have probably been used for, say, a couple thousand years. Yea, yea, I hear you now, -“But that is wire wrapping or bead stringing.” Like I said above, I don’t teach those. But if you want to learn a new skill and have fun, check out my web site for more class info.
I have been teaching/making jewelry for a long time, and there is always more to learn. It is a very satisfying way to spend time and have something to show for your time.
And I want to thank Gene for providing this opportunity and also to wish all a Happy & Joyous Holiday season.
