Subject: hydrant flushing
I’ve come home the last three days to see the fire hydrant across the street “flushing” down into the Mill parking lot (in Bynum) creating a mosquito pond, while my flowers are dying in the heat.
Surely there must be a way to re-capture this water for use in gardening or farming. In these times of drought, it seems so wasteful. I’m appalled that the county doesn’t have a better plan than this in place for flushing it’s system. Isn’t there a way to flush it into a water tanker truck for farming use? Or into large”rain” barrels for community use in gardens?
