Keep goats in with a seven strand electric fence

My fence – for mini horses and goats was originally five strand electric.  The goats walked right out of it.  What to do?

I called a friend who has a herd and he had the answer…I have successfully kept them all in.  With a seven strand electric fence…this is important.  I added 4 more grounding rods, which made the fence really hot….and now everyone respects their own space.

Of course, I still have to be on guard whenever I open the gate cause out the goats go and run around eating all my roses, flowers and knocking down all my lovely (expensive) trees.

There you have it…7 strands,  lots of grounding rods and a guard whenever opening the gate for the lawnmower or truck to go thru….of course, one goat comes in the dog door and through the house and out the front dog door.  There the dogs bark and send “pretty boy” back out.  Such an adventure. But I love my goats..they’re so sweet and funny. and do an amazing job clearing the  pasture of weeds….cept for some ##$#$%$^%$^ noxious mint which has even crowded out the pesky japanese grass.  Nothing kills that weed…not even round up.

Any suggestions on routing the minty poison weed?
