Vegetable Gardening Workshop on May 4

Vegetable Gardening Workshop on May 4

Gaines Steer is offering his 25th annual Biointensive {sustainable}  Vegetable Workshop on Saturday, May 4 from 3-5pm at the home and studio of Billy Cummings and Colleen Black-Semelka.  This free workshop is ideal for beginner gardeners who are open to old-fashioned garden techniques, combined with third-world practices taught by Gaines’ mentor, John Jeavons, author of Ecology Action’s How to Grow More Vegetables.

Designed for in-ground raised beds, these practices and principles are used world-wide by primitive gardeners, who do not purchase their soil and plants at the local supermarket.

Gaines’ gardening handout: “The Soul of Vegetable Gardening” will be gifted to participants.  The workshop is experiential and will include participants’ gardening ideas.

The site of the workshop is: 336 E Perry Rd.  27312  (8 miles from downtown Pittsboro)
