“The Tempest” at the Library last night

On Thursday, Feb. 23,  the Playmaker’s Repertory Traveling company did a production of “The Tempest”, by Shakespaeare , FOR FREE, at our library in Pittsboro!  It was superb!  They use only 6 actors to play all 10 parts, and do all the scenery changes, besides.  It is “in the round” – so “up close and personal”.  This troop came to our library right before the Pandemic  started, 3 years ago.  Then the play was “Macbeth – equally wonderful!

I am so grateful to the Playmaker’s Rep, a graduate acting program of UNC, Chapel Hill,  for bringing these plays to small towns like ours.  If you missed it this year, be on the lookout for the next time it comes. It was advertised on the Chatlist and several other platforms.  I am grateful to our Library for welcoming them, as well.  “The Play’s the Thing”!
