I agree with Mr. Brownfield and recommend watching at least the closing remarks from the school board candidate forum.
Both Jessica Winger and Tim Moore sound energized and engaged and talked about their vision for what needs to change in the schools. Del Turner, in contrast sounded tired, old, and worn out and did nothing but wax poetic about the incumbent board’s alleged accomplishments and by that I guess she means several schools with only 30% to 40% of the students being at grade proficiency. It also didn’t help that she was wearing a (I’ll be polite here) surgical mask that made her sound muffled. That did cause me to wonder, though, if she would be all for forcing students to do likewise.
As I said before, hopefully the voters of the county are smart enough to show this lady the door.
