The O’Carolinians is a group of area musicians, founded in 2012 by Stephanie Talbott and Kate Barnhart at the Pittsboro Violin Shop. With a primary repertoire of Celtic music, The O’Carolinians also play international, Ragtime and Old Time tunes. Some members of The O’Carolinians also play in other organized performance groups and orchestras in the area. The group’s instrumentation includes violin, guitar, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, accordion, penny whistle, bodhran, cello, bass, and the occasional tambourine.
