This message is in reply to the post by Rich Beaudry and his question as to the nature of the “shout out” to Second Bloom by Doug Sedlak.
I agree Mr. Sedlak’s posts tend to be full of wit, if not outright sarcasm, and often times his intentions and meaning are not as obvious as the words written. If you recall his previous post regarding the hand sanitizer his response to the “science enforcer” was to say have a nice day and walk out of the store without making a purchase. I wouldn’t exactly call that support for the store and their “safety” protocols.
Along those lines, I too have encountered a few of what I call mask Nazis who take it upon themselves to attempt to enforce ridiculous policies based upon their irrational fears while claiming it’s science or even more importantly, “an edict by the Governor ….. OMG” Even the CDC and the second coming himself, Anthony The Fraud Fauci were correct when they said universal mask wearing will not impact the spread of the SARS-CoV2 virus but what it might do is curtail anxiety amongst the general population, in other words offer a talisman for the fearful to cling to believing they;re doing something that will protect them. Interestingly, all three of these encounters have been in Chapel Hill and Little Chapel Hill, aka Pittsboro, part of the county. Gee, I wonder if there is a connection.
The last one of these science “experts” I encountered was screeching and shrilling so badly at people of the proper wearing of their face diaper that it was almost comical surpassed only by the apoplectic display when I stood in defiance, removed the damned thing and said I will take my money elsewhere. Going forward, I will likely simply tell them, “Sorry, medical exemption”.
Seeing Mr. Sedlak’s post about free beer on Thursday, I just may show up and demonstrate my pro-choice stance.
