Hello everyone! I wrote this poem in 1999 which was one of the toughest years of my life. I hope it brings you hope for this difficult time and for the journey ahead.
*What Jesus Is To Me*
Jesus is my faithful shepherd, He finds me when I’m lost.
He gave His life to save me, He believes I’m worth the cost.
Jesus is my lover, He’ll never treat me harsh.
I put my trust in Jesus, He’s the soother of my heart.
His words will never hurt me, He loves me tenderly.
I’m not ashamed to praise Him, and adore Him openly.
Some things I do don’t matter, to anyone on this earth.
But when they’re looked upon by Jesus, He believes they have great worth.
Jesus is always behind me, every step along the way.
Applauding my successed, giving me strength for each new day.
When I run to Jesus, overburdened by today,
He lets me rest upon His chest, He tells me it’s okay.
Oh, I have a friend in Jesus, He’ll never leave my side.
Whenever I spend time with Him, He fills me up inside.
He satisfies my soul, better than anything else I know.
His presence is sweeter than honey, I want Him with me wherever I go.
Jesus is my dream come true, a match for me from heaven.
I may not do all He wants me to, but He tells me I’m forgiven.
Jesus always brings out the best in me, He never cuts me down.
When I’m sliced into little pieces, He sets me on solid ground.
Jesus hears all of my prayers, and stands in the gap for me,
Interceding to the Father, for the things He sees I need.
He’s an endless fountain of life, He refreshes me every day.
Jesus can be the same for you, if you’ll ask Him to today!
