Dear Fellow human, Beldar,
BUT, we want to open up the economy. That means people moving so commerce can take place. When people move, money moves. Circulating money is “the economy”. If wearing a mask will help us circulate again, why would you encourage Karen to stay home as her only alternative to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2 that is floating around in the airways of so many people with no symptoms and they simply don’t know they are carriers?? I have worn a mask every time out since 23 Feb and it’s not a big deal. UNC had to close back down as students gathered maskless and soon had so many in quarantine it filled two dorms set aside for that and then spilled over into hotels.
My Davidson friend and classmate fell in shower at beach, vertebral fracture, Lexington, NC hospital for rehab, positive COVID19, elected hospice and dead in 3 days; his widow dead 3 days later. Neither of them will spread the virus. Let’s wear our masks and support each other in doing so and be able to go for a slushy a LITTLE more safely. Help keep the lady employed selling slushy at HOP. The experience and studies are in; masks are not perfect, but they dramatically reduce the chance of being INFECTED. Some virus may sneak through, so keep your distance,.
Perfect is the enemy of good, and masks are good help.
