I like the reference to those of us who are residents Chatham County as Chatham Rabbits. I was born here and have resided here the better part of 68 years, all within 4 miles of Pittsboro. I don’t know when we started being referred to as Chathamites, but it sounds like a bunch of bugs. Personally I’d prefer a rabbit.
