I have received several responses and one brought up a questionable point .   The premise is the Confederate statue is connected to and promotes racism through slavery .  Slavery being the objectionable reason to remove the statue .  The view of those wanting to remove said statue is that it is  connected to slavery and should be removed from public property ..   Ok so lets say for now we agree the argument is we should remove it because its connected to slavery and promotes racism as it has no place in modern  society .  Someone brought up the fact slavery is still thriving today and extends from the muslim slave trades in the middle east to socialist and communist governments utilizing slave labor .  I had to do some research and I found that at the time of the civil war there was an estimated 4 million slaves in the south .  This was a cumulative total which accounted for bought slaves and the children born into slavery here  in the states .  Of those slaves about half were enslaved by other African tribes and nations who conquered  them with the remainder who were  enslaved by Islamic  slave traders .  They in turn sold these slaves to British , Portuguese and Dutch slave traders who then shipped them to the states .   We have established the slave chain from the states back to Africa .

Today at this moment there are an estimated 40 plus million slaves in the world .    71% are women   , 16 million are forced labor , 15.4 million forced marriages , 4.8 million forced sexual exploitation , 4.1 million state enforced labor .      Those who want to remove the statue don’t realize that they are supporting slavery world wide and don’t even know it every time they go shopping  .        Pakistan , China , India , Somalia are the biggest slave owners with several other middle eastern and Indonesian countries just behind them .   These countries use slaves for everything from forced labor to sex trades .   Have you ever looked at the tags on the clothing or household items you buy in one of the big box stores ?    If you trace items made to the countries they are imported from especially China , Pakistan , India , and many south east Asian countries ,, they were made in some part or in whole by slave labor .   From the 9th to end of the 19th century Islamic states were one of the leading suppliers of slaves world wide .  Muslims still make millions from the sex slave trade in the middle and far east .   I spent at least an hour studying how the quran teaches how to enslave people and how it is Ok and accepted  .   This book has taught this to muslims for about 1300 years .   I could go in to detail but I’m trying to make a point .  If we eliminate anything connected to slavery ,, most big box stores would have to close , mosques would have to be eliminated and outlawed and we would have to quit doing business with countries that still to this day allow slavery as a normal accepted thing .

Basically, buy all American made products .

I want to hear other points of view ,, explain and enlighten me as to why is one ok and the other is not?
