Subject: Discussion/Experiences @ Pittsboro PTA Thrift Store

I will share my experience with this thrift store.  When the manager wasn’t there, some of he employees expressed their dislikes of her.  Most cringed when she was there.  One volunteer couldn’t stand her and verbalized it to the people in the back that she would not come in to work if the manager was there.   The assistant manager didn’t even get along with her.  When she didn’t like the manager’s decisions she would get on the phone with the lady at the Siler City thrift store to complain.  This assistant manager got so fed up with the negative tension in the store that she ended up taking a different job and quit.

These thrift stores were created to help the Chatham County schools.  PTA stands for Parent  Teacher  Association.  So why doesn’t the community have more say and the ability to express their concerns and dislikes going on at a store??????

The items these stores sell are ALL DONATED, so getting picky and stingy on pricing items is plain outrageous.  I’ve had a lot of people tell me that they will no longer donate to the thrift stores due to the over pricing and the rudeness of the manager or from an employee.  Now this is money that the school’s can’t make.

I personally think that they need to replace the current manager at the Pittsboro store along with some of the employees.  What’s really sad is that most of the employees talk crap about the manager when she’s not around, but when she is around, they act like they love her.

By the way, the volunteer that refused to work in the store while the manager was there, the manager hired her as an employee.

Isn’t it CRAZY how 2 faced people can be.  I hardly ever go back in there, but when I do, you can cut the tension in that store with a knife.

To those that have left positive feedback, there aren’t many of you out there.
