Subject: Re Mary & Bees
Congratulations, Mary, for making sure your bee hives remained viable. You are one of the people who apparently is doing the right thing by the environment that allows bees to thrive. It is encouraging as well that you as well as other hive owners near you seem to be working with natural pesticides.
Again I agree that in NORMAL circumstances, both nature and natural pesticides can at times interfere with hive viability.
The point that I make once again is: that the ABNORMAL circumstances that has transpired over the past 10 years or more has led to bees being unable to navigate back to their hives, as well as an ABNORMALLY large number of hives dying. Over 40% nationally in the past year alone. Many scientific agencies, including those at various universities, have all concluded that it is the pesticides that contain neonicitoids that is the significant cause of this bee-death INCREASE. Of course some of them could be due to nature. The problem lies in the abnormally high rate of hive deaths….and those caused by neonicitoids in pesticides. The neonicitoids are an unnatural substance that has been added to 42 brand-names of pesticides.
Sincerely,
Maryphyllis Horn
