Subject: Eat Smart/Move More – Take Control
The Chatham County Center – North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be offering a program entitled “Eat Smart / Move More – Take Control” from 6:00pm – 7:30pm on Monday, February 1, 2016 at 65 East Chatham Street, Pittsboro. “Take Control” is a six-week, chronic disease prevention and management program that provides strategies to help adults manage their health. It uses the theory of planned behavior to inform, empower, and motivate participants with strategies and skills to change their eating and physical activity patterns. These strategies are consistent with the 2015 Dietary Guidelines recommendation to prevent chronic disease. The program provides opportunities for participants to track their goals and progress toward healthy eating and physical activity behaviors. Each lesson comes with a handout that summarizes the primary goals from that lesson along with a featured recipe.
Classes will be held in the Food Lab of the Chatham County Cooperative Extension building. The cost is FREE due to being grant supported. Registration is required, the deadline is January 28.
