Subject: shout out: Haw River Canoe and Kayak
Have you paddled the Haw lately?
We decided to organize a little voyage on the Haw River with Haw River Canoe and Kayak when our daughter and son-in-law visited us.
Although it was a dark and stormy day this past Saturday–the day we had booked our tour–the friendly folks at HRCK allowed us to reschedule for Sunday. We arrived bright and early at the Bynum Bridge to find Joe Jacob ready to get us outfitted for our upriver tour.
He helped us get our canoes down to the water and sent us on our way. It’s a leisurely paddle that afforded us plenty of time to delight in seeing blue herons, a bald eagle, kingfishers, cormorants, and an otter.
Thank you so much, HRCK, for giving us the chance to spend a blissful few hours experiencing some of Chatham County’s most beautiful natural features. We took plenty of pictures, but our most cherished memory is the time we were able to spend together enjoying the wildlife and the scenery (and making fun of our underdeveloped canoeing skills).
We highly recommend this company! Give them a call and get out on the river while the weather is still good. Fall will never look the same to you again.
