Subject: Fun with CenturyLink
We all love to bash CenturyLink here. I recently changed to faster DSL (double the speed) with them, and bill will actually drop $19/month in the future. Contact them to see if you can get this package. So, point in their favor here.
However, my first bill came in $56 higher than I had been getting. I chatted online to find out why, and I thought some of you would get a nice laugh out of how I managed to pay more in order to get discounts. (Again, tho, I was assured next bills will be less.) If anyone can decipher this, please let me know:
“This bill is higher because you were paying for the service you received in August that was not paid for yet, as well as the month ahead. The charges for August are billed at full price not the bundle price so that we can give you the full term of discounts that were offered.”
“Sorry the reason the company does this is that all of the promotions have a finite time period so if we discount the prorated charges then the terms wind up looking a month shorter than promised.”
