Subject: a solution to climate change? Not!
I guess we will continue to get pounded over the head about climate change until we are either brain-dead or just comatose enough to go along with the narrative. While I am not denying that the climate is changing (it always does), it makes me chuckle to see how “global warming†became “climate change†when the globe didn’t actually warm. Ha ha!
So the “Citizens’ Climate Lobby†is going to institute their “one-point agenda to build the political will for a carbon-based energy fee†to institute change and plug the holes in our sinking ship. How will they do that? Well, the old “do as I say, not as I do†crowd will do it with FEES of course. Fees, fees, fees, are always the solution to every problem according to those who know what’s best for us. Carbon fees charged to industries will solve it. Will it change anything? Nope — but some fee will be extracted from some “rich†company who doesn’t deserve to keep the profit they make, and it will go into some politician’s pocket or be spent on some turtle crossing or smelt pool. Does anyone seriously think that the revenue will be given to the American public in the form of a dividend check? (rolling on the floor laughing) That was already being done in Alaska by the oil industry until the Obama Administration and the EPA put a damper on that one. Not the right kind of dividend for their agenda.
Just wondering also how no one is upset about all the birds being slaughtered by wind turbines, and the ones being fried by other forms of reflectors and “green energy producers.” Don’t you dare pick up an eagle feather, you’ll get prison time, but it is OK if we “cream them†with a wind turbine.
Also, what happens to the solar panels when they have outlived their usefulness? Does anyone talk about the chemicals that must be used in the recycling process?
Oh wait — let’s form another committee or lobby and bully the people into our way of thinking. Pittsboro Matters anyone?

There are solutions to climate change!
Human caused climate change is happening and will continue at an unprecedented rate if we do nothing. Many species, including very possibly our own, will be unable to adapt. Our ship is sinking and the first thing to do is fix the leak: we must, as quickly as possible, transition off of carbon-based fuels whose emissions are warming the planet and altering the chemistry of our oceans. This requires a systemic change. This requires that we the people take action. One action is to build the political will to put a price on carbon.
I am volunteering with an organization called Citizens’ Climate Lobby whose one-point agenda is to build the political will for a carbon-based energy fee by empowering individuals to exercise their personal and political power. As a citizen and a constituent, I have been communicating with the office of Renee Ellmers about the terrific solution of Carbon Fee and Dividend where companies that introduce carbon-based fuels into the market pay a fee and ALL revenue generated is given to the American public in the form of dividend checks. This ends up being GOOD for the economy and GREAT for the climate! Ellmers and her staff have moved from “drill baby drill†to an “all of the above†energy policy which includes renewable forms of energy like wind and solar.
Are you concerned about global warming? Have you communicated that concern to your member of Congress? Do you want to be part of a respectful yet persistent group working towards a livable future?
Please contact me if you are a Renee Ellmers/NC District 2 constituent who would like to make a difference on climate. Please visit the Citizens’ Climate Lobby website to learn more about Carbon Fee and Dividend. http://citizensclimatelobby.org
