Subject: Be the Rose NOT the Thorn
Poverty is a fact of life for 1 of every 6 children living in Chatham County. The problem is even greater in individual communities, such as the Pittsboro and Siler City areas, where nearly 1 of every 3 children is being raised in poverty.
You can be a part of thisà whether you happen to be the one living in poverty and struggling to get out of it or you would like to help those that need the help. Our mission is to connect people who are struggling financially with the experiences, opportunities, and relationships they need to get ahead in life.

People need support in many things that they go through in life so being their support system helps greatly. Please consider being that person that someone can talk to and someone just to be there when they just need to talk or vent. That support means more then you may know.
Think about the suicide rate, those people that went through with it, if they had that support, that person to talk to & to just be there for them and give them support and uplift them out of the doom and despair they are in. You may some something totally nice or something that clicks with them to realize things aren’t all that bad. YOU can be that one that pulls that person out of that dark hole.
If your loved one struggles with suicidal ideation, help them get the help they need. The thing that hurts the most is when someone says, “Oh he/she is just looking for attention.†GIVE THEM THE ATTENTION THEY NEED BY GETTING THEM THE HELP THEY NEED. Do not just roll your eyes and move on thinking “They won’t do it†– because if they do, you will hate yourself for acting that way. Even if you have to do it over and over and over again, you will be an integral part of that person’s life. You matter as much as they do.
I personally know I am a part of this group and with the support I’ve had with my allies, I can say it helped me to NOT end my life. This group is here to help and support and they really do try to give it their all to help those that need it.
