PITTSBORO – Ivan Urlaub, executive director of the N.C. Sustainable Energy Association, will be guest speaker for the Sustainable Speaker Series at Central Carolina Community College’s Chatham County campus The program begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 15th at the Holmes Meeting Room of the Chatham Library on the CCCC Chatham campus.
CCCC is a member of the NC Sustainable Energy Association. The NCSEA envisions a future where North Carolina’s clean energy economy leads the nation and serves as a model for other states.
The goal of the NCSEA is to cultivate a robust clean energy ecosystem that unifies and benefits all of its stakeholders: consumers, businesses, the clean energy industry and utility energy providers.
Urlaub has become a nationally recognized thought and implementation leader in integrating and evolving clean energy policy and market development, providing strategic advisement to organizations, industry and public and non-profit entities in more than 25 states. In addition, Urlaub is founder and board secretary of the N.C. Clean Energy Business Alliance.
Urlaub will provide an update on the positive growth of the renewable energy sector in North Carolina and the possibilities for expansion in the decades ahead.
In its third year, the Sustainable Speaker Series brings local and regional thought leaders to expand sustainability issues beyond the classroom. The Sustainability Technologies staff, and student group, Students for Sustainability, created the speaker series.
The Sustainable Speaker Series will continue on Nov. 19th with Isaiah Allen, Executive Chef at The Eddy Pub and Founder, Farmer at Rocky Run Farm..
