Well Karen , more domestic violence statistically occurs with the good ole kitchen knife , and to be more specific ( but it id’s tons of stuff ) , it’s anything that can be used as a weapon that is close by ( yeah , like baseball bats or steel toed boots ).
The term ‘AR’ has nothing to do with being friendly or unfriendly. It stands for Armalite Rifle . Armalite is the name of the company that started the semiautomatic version of the M4 ( military version). The semi automatic rifle has been around for 100 years , so there is nothing new to firing one round per trigger pull . Santa Claus brought me a Ruger 10/22 for Christmas when I was 12 years old . It was a semi automatic rifle , but it wasn’t called an ‘Assault Rifle’ , and it ISN’T an assault rifle.
The ‘ASSAULT RIFLE’ is a weapon that can fire in semi auto mode or the SELECT FIRE mode ( meaning it’ll continue to fire until you either run out of ammo or release the trigger ). We have NO PROBLEMS with ASSAULT RIFLES as they require a tax stamp ( expensive) , and a background check that would equal an application for employment with the FBI. ATF monitors all of these people who own one , this is referred to as a Class III license.
NO RIFLE fires indiscriminately at anything , never has , never will .
People do this , guns don’t.
I hope this helps
