I agree with you, Brad.  That’s why we need to support the lawsuit they may be filing regarding the borders along the Haw River (which river is where we get our water).  For those readers who disagree, know that the borders are crucial for keeping sewage away from our water, dirt and silt and mud also away from the river.  Reader, if you think our waste water management will take care of that, be well prepared for a HIKE in our TAXES.  Better to take an ounce of prevention, than have to deal with a pound or a tone of repair!

It puzzles me that people who have children don’t care about how the land and the ambiance of our town are affecting their future and their children’s future here.

In the restaurant industry it is well known that a very successful establishment has to be very very careful about any additions it makes to the restaurant.  Each “ell” or wing added changes the feel of the restaurant, and can break the ambiance that is so attractive to patrons.  The Oriental art of Feng Shui acknowledges this.

Feng Shui also acknowledges changes made to a town and its environment.  Whether Pittsboro Matters knows about Feng Shui or not, all of us on board with them KNOW the increased building and population WILL change the nature of the town.  In a few years, all of the rest of you will know this as well…..but then it will be too late to do anything about it.   That is why us with Pittsboro Matters are wondering: why aren’t the rest of you, who look at Chatham Park with those starry eyes of $$ signs, moving to Cary or Raleigh?  Why are you choosing to stay here in Pittsboro?  There is something you like here that keeps you here, right?  Well.  That’s going to change.

Pittsboro Matters is NOT saying a complete NO to Chatham Park. Their saying …..  too many hazardous matters are being ignored, and we really do need to go slower.  But 4 on the town board seem to have the $$$ stars in their eyes that cloud what’s really about to happen.

Now that the commissioners have given Chatham Park and Preston Development the go ahead, do we just forget about PittsboroMatters and their efforts to get a full and more sensible plan going? Does it not matter any more? While Preston rakes in bucks that come from our children and grandchildren who speaks for them? Do they not matter either?
