Yes, as predicted, the Peach Man from Candor did indeed sell out right at the end of the day. Expect that he will be back today with more of those yummy, sweet treats of nature. Noticed that several vendors hand cucumbers last week. Nothing beats the taste of a fresh sliced and salted cucumber.
Several vendors had free range eggs. Not sure if the snow peas will still be in season. Saw several customers walking around with bunches of small tender freshly pulled carrots.
The vendor with goat milk ice cream brought more of the chocolate last week. It is proving to be very popular. He also had free samples of goat cheese. Sunny Slope was there again with those big, big, plump red tomatoes. Next best thing to field grown- which by the way, are just coming in harvest. Not sure how many vendors might have field grown.
Lilly Den farms is always there with non-commercial meats and pet milk (unpasteurized natural milk that pets love)- And the vendor that has hand made fragrant soaps is sure to be in the usual spot. Fresh greens are in abundance, white turnips, broccoli, kale and radishes. New potatoes looking good. Last week there were two baker vendors- including ‘Big Cookie’ Joan Thompson
Zambellanatta will have landscape size (waist high) Oak Leaf hydrangeas- Ready to plant. Winter hardy angel-wing begonias. Evergreens and assorted shrubs. Smoke bush cultivar “Grace” White Daphne. (oh, so fragrant in late Jan and Feb.).
