Subject: Aunt Bees cats
Cats took to the country side by themselves? Had one dumped on the road in front of my home. One male neutered cat with one half a tail, one blind eye and all his teeth broken.
He was hanging by my pond and I had chased him one day as there were a lot of birds around the pond which I did not want killed. The second day, I saw him again and again, chased him across the pond dam. All of a sudden he stopped and turned around to me and meowed………..Oh well, I stopped and picked him up and took him home. He was a Aunt Bee cat and was ID’d by a man who use to make Aunt Bee tiny coffins for her cats when they died. He had also told me about the huge shower that was turned into a cat pan.
I had been taken aback to find he was a neutered male. Who neutered cats in the country back in the eighties. When I learned he was an Aunt Bee cat, then I also questioned how a half blind cat found his way more then seven miles away from his home.
I think a lot of her cats had a ‘ride’. Aunt Bees’ mistake for not making provisions for the care of her cats, which were very important to her but not to others.
Reading the article, was appalled to read what people did to her. No wonder she closed herself off and did not come out. Sad.
