Mary Phyllis thinks putting people above nature and animals is sheer arrogance

Subject: where are the jobs

Upon talking with other people, regarding “where are the jobs” is that highly specialized businesses like IBM, etc., aren’t drawn to come here by a building already done.  They will need to give their input on specifications that apply directly to their work.  It’s not like building a Lowes Hardware….with megayards of open cement surrounded by 4 tall walls.  There’s a lot more to it.  ALSO, Chatham Park (CP) developers are not the ones who put out the call to businesses.  That is the job of the town board…perhaps to call in a marketer.

Like I said before – CP is giving everyone a bunch of tall tales “pies in the skies”….to get the residents on board.

If CP really had our best interests in mind, they would assign 30% of open space to be actual wilderness.  This has been the concern and request of many of us – and clearly echoes by the Lewis company recommendations.  CP is thumbing its nose at us.  We don’t need a PARK; we need WILDERNESS to help buffer what the town and county are now.  CP is wanting only what they want – $$ megagreed.  They do not have our concerns at heart, much less know them.

They are putting humans above nature, humans ahead of animals.  That makes absolutely no sense.  Humans need nature to create air to breathe and water to drink and climate that helps us rather than hinders us.  Humans need pollinators (insects and birds) to pollinate our plants. Humans need all wildlife to fertilize the soil so that nature can regrow itself for us.  WE CANNOT LIVE without NATURE.  To think that we are more important than nature is sheer arrogance.

All of us who are pushing for at least 30% wilderness know this.
