Subject: 2 Contests to Celebrate Project Proud’s 5th Anniversary of Serving Chatham County Families

Who is Project Proud Families. A nonprofit that supports/educates families who have children with “different abilities”. We serve them with 100% volunteer power and no staff/volunteer accepts a salary. Since we serve Pro Bono all donations and funding go straight into programming. So I would like to take a second to thank these past/present volunteers. Tamara Trotter (Asst.. Director) Jessica McLaughlin (Secretary), Tricia Culberson, Jeannie Roscoe, Carla Finlay, Susan Cowette, Melba Dixon, and many more that have staffed our events. Please tell them thank you if you see them around!

Now, we have 2 contests with great prizes and will give you the opportunity to honor a parent or a child with “different abilities” or teacher or working advocate in a nonprofit for their service to those with “different abilities.

The 1st Parent contest: Submit 200 words or less on why this parent is an above and beyond parent to a children with “different abilities” and how they still manage to give back to the community in some way.

The 2nd Teacher Contest: Submit 200 words or less on why this teacher or advocate in a nonprofit deserves to be recognized for their sacrifice towards families of children with “different abilities”.

Prizes include: Photography package from Lori Davis Photography, Eric Michael’s Salon gift certificates, Bella Donna lunch certificate, pedicure certificate, Sophie’s Style “Mother’s Necklace” and flowers delivered to the advocate/teachers place of employment thanking them.

Please submit entries to or mail to 225 Still Waters Dr. Siler City, NC  27344. Entries must be received by May 12th and will be announced by May 16th and winners notified.
