Subject: T-Mobile in Chatham County – our experience
We have been T-Mobile users for a while now.
My running joke is that I pay 1/2 the price but I get 1/2 the service. Voice service is OK but there are significantly more dead spots, especially as you get away from Hwy 64, 421 and the towns. There is currently no LTE data, if you want high speed data your only option is Verizon. If your primary need is voice, then you should be ok.
I do pay close attention to the cellular market and T-Mobile is in the process of converting and upgrading their network. I think I remember reading that current plans are to be fully converted over to the new data plans in 18 months. I’ve decided to stick with T-Mobile for my family because i’m usually close to WiFi and If I need/want data on the road, then I can use my work phone which is on Verizon’s network.
