Subject: Jenkins Gas
I hate to post this, but I am in agreement about the recent post about Jenkins Gas. I have used Jenkins for 14+ years (and my mother before) and got absolutely perfect service. I have even recommended them here on the Chatlist. I have heard that Johnny, the owner/manager?, has retired. It has gone downhill since.
I got a lot of excuses this past season about it being so cold that they “couldn’t keep up with demand”….”since I only have a fireplace and is not a major source of heat that I’m not a priority”….in the past Johnny would stop by when my fireplace wouldn’t start at the beginning of the season….this time I called and they NEVER came or sent anyone (I got an independent company to fix it) and about a month later someone called and said they were coming to fix my fireplace (Jenkins had called another company to contract out that work)…..I finally had to threaten to use another supplier before I got filled up at one point during the winter. I might add that I always pay my bill at the moment it arrives….I’m giving them one more chance, just because of the excellent service I received in the past….but if I receive the same service this coming season as the past…I’m outta here!
