There was a great deal of commentary about Chatham Park today, mostly quite civil and informative and I thank the posters for that.
One thought.
If one moved here for the rural quiet and quaintness, say retired and wanting the lifestyle, and is opposed to an influx of lots of people and a likely change to more hustle and bustle, crowded restaurants and more traffic, etc. that does not make them bad people and they should hold that position guilt free and up front.
That they are very likely to be disappointed by the nearly inevitable spillover of population from RTP into Chatham County, is also not a sin, simply a result of population growth. That some people view this as beneficial to their business or to the value of their property is also not a sin.
I have a hunch that if we discuss the technical and legal and logistical and economic and environmental dillemmas and opportunities of Chatham Park without this emotional burden, we will do so much more politely and effectively.
