Grassroots Grant-tastic!

The Chatham County Arts Council is thrilled to announce our 2014 Grassroots Grant recipients!

We love this program because it allows us, as a local arts council, to work with our very own community members to determine where artists and arts funding can make the greatest impact here in Chatham County.

This year, nine Chatham County groups will be awarded a portion of the $8,640 in total funding available. With grants ranging from $300 to $1,200, these fine folks will pay local artists for their work and reach  underserved populations toward goals like literacy, safety, health, and hope.

The 2014 recipients include the Autism Society of North Carolina for Camp Royall (Moncure), Bynum Front Porch (Bynum), Central Carolina Community College/SITE (Pittsboro project), Chatham County Together (Siler City), Chatham Trades (Siler City), Childcare Networks (Siler City), Family Violence and Rape Crisis Services (Siler City project), Hispanic Liaison of Chatham County (Siler City project), and Sisters’ Voices (Pittsboro).

The Grassroots Arts Program is offered by Chatham County Arts Council through the generous assistance of the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of North Carolina and the National Endowment of the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
