Subject: I would never actually say that on the Chatlist . .
Today I wrote an email to a friend, batting the breeze and such – At the end, just to be funny, I said this-” Just about to dash off another one of my gems to the Chatlist. I can hardly wait to read it! ” Of course, I would never actually say that, because I never know what exactly I am going to write. And when I do write it, I am skeptical as to its merits.
I know so little about a lot of things, I fear I will make a complete fool of myself. What I do know, is than when I write about something, I am never happy with how I have said it and too many times I am unhappy with it, even tho readers seem to have enjoyed the piece. As I grow older, I don’t know why, but my proof reading skills are falling by the wayside. I don’t see the little mistakes any more. I try desperately to use correct words and phrases. And spelling something wrong is so irritating- especially if it is being viewed by over four thousand Chatlist readers.
And how I hate to write something, have it published and when I see it in print, say to myself, ‘what was I thinking?’- I know instantly that I shouldn’t have written it or that I put the wrong spin on the topic.
Many years ago, I wrote a monthly column for an antiques publication. This was before computers. I had to write it out in longhand, then have someone proof read that- Then type it out and mail it to the publisher. I made far less mistakes and also had fewer pieces published. Glad it is not like that any more. Glad to have a computer and glad to have email. A day without email or a day without the computer is terrible. It brings on a stressful time- just wondering what to do with myself. No more longhand for me- it is tiring and seldom can I read what I have just written.
Gotta bring this to a close- Just about to dash off another one of my gems to the Chatlist- I can hardly wait to read it . .

P.S. Congrats to MM- for just getting a computer- Welcome to the Chatham Chatlist.
