Tuesdays, October 22-December 3, 1-4pm
Through CCCC, meets all over Chatham County
Deepen your awareness and connection with some of our largest plant friends: the trees! In this field study we’ll visit various local environments to explore ways to identify trees in the wintertime. We’ll also cover the edible and medicinal properties of trees, ethical gathering, and preparation, while enjoying many hands-on activities.
Class facilitated by community herbalist and wild foods enthusiast “Planty” Kim Calhoun who grew up learning about trees on walks with her grandparents in the woods of Chatham County. For ages 14 and older. Class size is limited. Register in person or by phone at CCCC in Pittsboro: (919) 545-8044. 7-week class (21 hours) costs $71.25.
