WoodsRock is an annual, community music festival, this year featuring area youth bands and dance groups; childrens’ activities; great food, and arts and crafts’ fun for the whole family ages two to ninety-two!

This fun festival will be held again this year at Woods Charter School on October 19th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Chatham County south of Chapel Hill and just north of Fearrington Village off of NC Highway15-501 on Andrews Store Road. Cotton Bryan, the principal of Woods Charter School says about this school fundraising event to benefit their Transportation Fund. “Some events are designed as fundraisers, and some are designed as community-builders. And then there’s WoodsRock, a super-fun, community-building fundraiser.

With this day of music, games, art, and crafts, we generate essential funds for  our transportation program, and we bring the community together in a creative, entertaining way.  It’s a good time for a good cause!†Don’t miss this

WoodsRock’s featured musicians and dancers include “Matt Vorris’ Rock Camp Band†, from Woods Summer Wonders Music Camp; Woods Faculty Band & Dancers; “Transactions†, rock band; the “Bucket Brothers†,
multi-intrumental wiz kids ; “Expressions†Dance Troupe of the Chatham Dance Connection; “Cube†, Chatham Community Church Youth Ministry Band; “Hung Jury†, alternative rock; “Cosmic Punk†indie rock; “Krista & Querli†, a folk rock, teacher-student duo, and the world famous “Bouncing Bulldogs†, a national-champion skip roping team for several years. There will also be several wonderful student performances including Musical Theater by Patrick Harvey; Woods Charter’s 7th-8th Grade Band; and “La Bête Magiqueâ€
, known for its all original songs, both acoustic and electric, ranging from dreamy to energetic

Children’s Activities: Some of the most fun families and children can experience throughout the day at WoodsRock include face-painting; hat-making; tye-dying WoodsRock t-shirts; an obstacle course; and a huge

Inflatable Bounce House and Obstacle Course for an additional ticket of $5 per child.

Other Activities & Displays include arts and crafts vendors by area artists; a Rock Raffle which includes a beautiful Luna brand acoustic guitar, membership to the YMCA, a free month of martial arts lessons at Quest Center of Chapel Hill, half-off a birthday party for 10 and introductory climbing lessons for two at Triangle Rock Club, gift certificates to Niche Gardens, two day passes to the Shakori Hills Spring Festival, and many other items including jewelry, and gift coupons to area restaurants and spas.

WoodsRock also has a silent auction featuring weekend vacations at a beach and a mountain house.

WoodsRock Food Vendors will include Barney’s Famous Hot Dogs, Cappâ’s pizza and Tar Heel Creamery.
