I agree with Lyle Estill’s comments about Pittsboro and the proposed Chatham Park.
I spoke out against it, in the town meeting held at CCCC. Less than a handful of people were gungho for it. All of the rest spoke of great reservations concerning the project and especially emphasized “going slow.” This surprised me, especially that the Triangle Conservancy did not directly oppose it. There was a pall over the meeting: one of deep resignation that there was nothing we citizens could do about it, that it was already a “done deal” except for the details.
The article in this week’s Chatham Record suggests that this is anything but a “done deal.” Jeffrey Starkweather feels the same way. I am hoping the same way. I suggest anyone who wants to speak their mind about this horrendous project should immediately contact the Mayor and Board of Commissioners and attend any meetings your schedule allows.
? Attend the Pittsboro Town Board meeting, Monday, October 14, 7 p.m. at Pittsboro Town Hall (across from Food Lion on US 64). Give your public input or support other Pittsboro Matters speakers.
? Send an e-mail to the town board members expressing your concerns..
