You’ll find this article in the October Chatham County Line or on my website, www.BettyPhillipsPsychology.com, in the Advice Line section.

Please read it!  I was really amazed to find out about the inter-relationships of plants and trees.  We look around and see only scenery.  If we spent more time and studied what looks like static vegetation we could learn fascinating information.  Do you remember the wonderful mother tree in the movie Avatar?  There are mother trees and they pass on their nutrients to other trees.  When plants are allowed to grow together they pass information and chemicals to protect against insects or diseases. There are many implications for farmers and gardeners.  It’s really interesting to learn, but my excitement was kindled by my love for kindness and compassion.  These values can be found in the plant world; we must take heed!
