Subject: Lollypop town
Is it strange to anyone else that Pittsboro hates shade trees?
Monday, all the nicely growing trees along the main street were being sheared into lollypops-on-sticks.
Not only is it ugly and affording even less shade than needed, it is simply embarrassing and makes me take alternate routes.
Perhaps merchants there should think about all potential effects of such ‘grooming’, because manicured (ie: fake) trees do not achieve the absolute pleasure of pedestrian shopping in towns with wonderful natural shaded canopies.
