Dig into Reading!
Thanks to everyone who came to the Grand Trees “Portrait of a Worm” activity at Goldston Library. Plenty of squealing and giggling accompanied our learning about earthworms and then bestowing our rescue worms upon the root system of a venerable cedar tree.
The last stop in our summer reading tour will be a double-header at Wren Memorial Library in Siler City, Wednesday, July 24. A short version of the program will be presented at 10:30 AM. The full version of the program will begin at 11:00 AM.
We’ll read stories, play games, draw portraits of worms from live models, and get down and dirty for a short trip outside to release our worms into the wild. All while learning about how worms are a tree’s best friend. Urban trees, especially, need all the help they can get!
Hope to see you there,
Margaret Tiano
