Dear Karen,
I think you’re blessed to be living with lizards. Probably green anoles?
We’ve coexisted with them for decades, hanging outside our sunny, south-facing windows. The wild world is disappearing from the planet, so a healthy lizard population is a gift. What harm is there in living with them? They don’t leave messy droppings like mice do. If they get in the house, you can catch them and release them. They are endlessly entertaining!
Occasionally I find one in the house that is suffering from lack of water. I make a puddle of water in my hand and “reconstitute” the lizard, even feed it water with a dropper, which it drinks readily, and release it outdoors where it scampers off. Or one can leave shallow pans of water in the house, like lids from big yogurt containers, for the lizards to find.
Good luck!
Lisa
