Subject: “You all should still be suspicious of the so called children’s book seller!”
There is such a thing as traveling salesmen. Their business involves knocking on strangers’ doors. If you answer the door, they will talk to you. Because they are essentially cold-calling, they might ask some questions about other folks to visit. They do this to try to make sales. All of this is completely normal, even in a rural area.
Why do we have to sound the alarm when a stranger knocks on the door? What evidence is there that this guy is something other than what he says he is? How rational is it to think that this guy has gone to the trouble to create a fake business name (and website), register with the BBB, etc?
If crime is low in Chatham, why is my sense of security “false”?
