Subject: Shame on Foodlion Pittsboro
They put us through torture and tears with their new “make-over”- The result is far more products than we want or need. Selections only a gourmet kodonchee could love- The wine isle is like a nightclub- The meat display is like an art-deco morgue. Bigger is better? The new set-up makes the check-out clerks work harder. The bagging and handling of foods is more complicated. Now, even female clerks have to go outside and bring in the shopping cartsl.
Bigger and newer and spiffier is not better. Yesterday, at prime-time ten thirty in the morning, only two lanes were open. Several customers with a few items were needlessly held up for about 15 mins because someone was shopping for an institution and had “papers'” that needed to be filled out and approved and put thru a “purchase order” deal.
If Food lion doesn’t appreciate my dollar enough to respect my shopping needs, I will seek greener pastures. (no old cow jokes, please- and no bull)

Betty, and what is wrong with female clerks going outside to retrieve shopping carts? Are their legs broken? The last thing I remember is that we (women) were fighting for equal pay for equal work. Now if the pay isn’t equal…there you’d have something to gripe about.
