Subject: Organic Weed Control Suggestion for Joyce

A couple days ago, Joyce Bryan asked for suggestions about how to control weeds in her gravel driveway. Lots of products are promoted as effective but I’m yet to find a better option than using high heat from a propane torch. This method uses no chemicals, is completely organic, introduces no hazardous materials onto the ground or into the water supply, and kills weeds and their seeds dead.

Nothing in this world is perfect, however. Weeds are a fact of life; eventually nature will overcome all human endeavors to control it. Following are some excerpts from a blog about using high heat to control weeds in Chatham county.

Here are some excerpts from a local blog about using high heat to control weeds:
– Propane is considered an eco-friendly fuel;
– Using heat to control weeds rather than chemicals kills seeds as well as the adult weed plant;
– Propane gas and professional equipment are expensive;
– Torches can be a serious fire hazard when used by a person who is not experienced with their use and who does not know and carefully follow precise and thorough fire prevention procedures. CALL A PROFESSIONAL OR BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL!!!
